Cami and her sister reached out to Coded Creative, a WordPress theme shop I co-own, with a unique request: they wanted to create an identical brand and blog design for two blogs that would have the same name but different focuses. I was a little overwhelmed by the idea, but as we nailed down the details and got started, I was really excited to have been able to play a part in the next step in the Tidbits brand.
When we were developing the branding we chose to create one logo with two unique versions as alternates with the taglines of the two different blogs. This would give each sister the chance to continue to grow the Tidbits brand as a whole while also being able to market themselves individually.
While we were working on the website design, it was very apparent that they were both going to have a wide variety of content that needed to be not only organized, but easy for their readers to find exactly what they were looking for. We accomplished this by having multiple sections on the site that separated the categories of the content and displayed links so it was easy for readers to navigate.
It was also important that since both sites were going to have identical designs, that the reader knew which site they were on quickly. We accomplished this by having a section at the top of the site with a link to each side of the brand, and a custom "You are here" graphic inspired by a map to easily let people know right away which site they're viewing.
