Alex and I worked together in 2014 to establish her current branding as well as a blog design. When we originally worked together, Alex said that she was ready to do two big things for her blog: move to a self-hosted WordPress site and get a brand new design.
At the beginning of 2017, Alex reached out to me, and I was thrilled that she was interested in working with her again. She had noticed that her fellow fashion bloggers were utilizing a more modern, editorial style design on their sites, and she knew it was time to get a new look that was more in like with that style to help continue to grow her brand.
When we originally worked together, we established her logo, which she's still using now. It features a hand drawn type, which helps set her apart and combined with the simple typeface helps establish the sophisticated, chic, and classic look that we were trying to achieve.
This time around, since we wanted Alex's new design to be more modern, we worked on integrating several new features:
- Mega menu in the navigation
- Custom loop with 3-column widget area
- Shop the Post excerpt
- Custom Footer with Instagram + menu
