We moved. It was the craziest whirlwind during it all, but we’re home and mostly unpacked. I’m turning my attention to the interior design of our home.
I’m thinking about a lot of different rooms at once – big things and little things. Like when you move intro a brand new home you don’t think about the fact that you won’t have toilet paper holders or towel hooks. So Amazon orders have already been placed, and while I wait for those to arrive I’ve started thinking about the girls’ bedrooms.
At first I thought I’d do my oldest’s room the same as it was at our old house. But she’s older now, and soon she will finally transition out of her crib, so I’m thinking about how I can give her a big girl room that encompasses her love of color.

For her room, I’m thinking we’ll do a rainbow inspired room. I want to paint a custom rainbow on one of her walls and create a little nook where she can look at her books and play with some of her toys. It’s taking a bit to warm her up to the idea of moving furniture out of her room that she doesn’t need anymore (dresser, glider) and transition. I know she’ll come around eventually, though.
I’ve also started thinking about the baby’s room. I saw an image on Pinterest several months ago, and when I saw it I knew immediately that her room would be styled around the color pink.

Her room is a lot more styled around natural light than my oldest’s was at our old house, and honestly I love it so much. I’m slightly intimidated about doing a wallpaper statement wall myself, but I know once everything is together it’s all going to look so beautiful.
The rooms are right beside each other, so I know the touches of pink in both rooms will tie them together very beautifully. And honestly, if my oldest daughter decides she wants the minimalist pink instead, I’ll go for it!
Now it’s time to get to shopping!
