I’ve noticed that I go through a lot of phases with Pinterest. I truly love the platform, but I can go for months without logging on and pinning anything. I’ve spent a lot of time in the past using it to promote my blog posts and my business in general. Heck, a few months ago I ran a promoted Pin and saw a pretty decent return in my shop.
But when people starting only using Pinterest as a tool to promote their blog posts and stopped seeing it as a tool for visual inspiration, I stopped using it as often. Don’t get me wrong, I still pin graphics for new posts, but I find so much joy in just pinning things that I think look good or inspire me. I guess that’s also why I have a stack of magazines I’m hoarding because I like their designs.
Lately, though, I’ve been in love with Pinterest. I cleaned out my feed and started pinning actual inspiration, home decor, things that I liked instead being so strategic about it. I won’t lie – the new design totally drew me back in (I refreshed daily to see if I had it yet), and I’m happy it did.
It’s got me thinking a little about the way we use every.thing. so strategically. We’re all constantly focused on growing and growing and growing our brands. But that’s a separate discussion :)
For now, I’ll leave you with some of my latest pins that I’m enjoying and feeling inspired by.
