It is seriously blowing me away that this little girl is 4 months old. I was just looking at her as she played on her little mat yesterday and thinking to myself that I can’t believe how big she is (though she’s still a tiny little thing). The time just keeps flying right on by with her. I truly feel like I’m going to blink and wake up one morning with a one year old, so I’m trying to soak up every single second that I can with this babe.
In my last update, we had been struggling a bit with different things. I’m pretty sure Emma went through the 4 month sleep regression at 3 months because things are so much better now. I will say that while my husband was home he was able to get her to start taking her pacifier again, and that has seriously helped put her down for naps and bedtime! We went from having full crying sessions lasting around 1.5-2 hours per night to it taking max 15-20 minutes to get her to sleep. It’s made me far less anxious for bedtime, and I can’t thank my husband enough for whatever magic spell he used to make that work.
Other than that, Emma has started hanging out in an activity center. She’s not quite playing with the toys on it yet, but it’s a nice extra place to be able to dock her and let her look around during the day. We rotate between it, the swing, and her play mat most days with some random playing in other rooms in between.
One big thing that happened in the past month is that she belly laughed one night for the first time. She was laughing so hard at the ceiling fan and then at Zoey. She’s been giggling off and on since then at different things, but no full blown laughing since then. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced, though. It literally brought tears to my eyes!
- Weight: 11lbs 9oz
- Wearing: Starting to (slowly) move into 3 month clothes! Regular onesies fit decent, but she’s still too short for the footie pajamas. We’ll get there one of these days, ha!
- Sleep: Still not sleeping through the night, but she’s gotten a handful of more nights of 5 hour stretches before waking up. I long for when she sleeps at least 8 hours, but for now I’ll be grateful she’s at least sleeping.
One interesting thing:
This girl loooves her pup! She absolutely loves looking at Zoey, and sometimes she’ll smile and giggle at her even when Zoey isn’t doing anything, which is great. She thinks it’s hilarious when Zoey tries to smell her face. It’s so fun to watch her, and I know the second she can crawl or walk, she’s going to be chasing Zoey everywhere around the house!
