Goodness, y’all, we’re already almost halfway done with this year. I swear, every single year I get older the time seems to go by that much faster. The past month has flown by, and it’s probably been because we’ve been on the move almost constantly. The past month has been all about soaking up our final days in Charleston, visiting family, buying a house, and moving to our new town. I’m so excited for things to finally be calming down on the personal side of things, even if things with business are about to get a little crazy :)
Our New Home
I’m thrilled beyond words to say that we finally closed on our house on Friday. I feel like we’ve been on a rollercoaster of emotions trying to get to this point, but I’m truly excited that we’re finally in our new house. It’s smaller than the townhouse we had in Charleston, but we’re both really excited to have our own house, particularly one with a backyard for Zoey. I’m also excited that I can finally reboot the Our Home posts, even if it takes us a few years to work through the stuff we want to do to this new house!
Behind The Business Scenes
Taking a month off from my business was probably the best idea I’ve had all year (well… definitely top five). While I still spent a few hours scheduling some social media posts, writing blog posts, and then writing emails for my Wild Hearts community, stepping away from client work was a blessing. Aside from the fact that I wouldn’t have had time to work with my clients, I spent some down time while I was off thinking about what’s next and making plans for the second half of the year. I’m currently working on getting some new systems in place and big picture planning for the rest of the year.
Kickstart Your List
Aside from the behind the scenes business stuff that’s going on, I’m also starting to get ready to relaunch Kickstart Your List. I’m knee deep in a content audit, and I have all sorts of ideas for the launch. I’m pretty excited with how the first launch with, so I’m dreaming a tiny bit bigger for this one! If you’re interested in creating + growing a stellar email list while staying far away from the icky growth tactics others may teach, click here and get your name on the wait list.
In Other News
I’m sort of working my way through about 4 different books right now. I just started Think and Grow Rich, my MIL let me borrow an audio book for the drive down here to Georgia (that I didn’t finish during the actual drive, oops!), and I have two other books that I’m in the middle of. I’m really going to challenge myself to get more intentional with my time over the coming month, particularly since I have the course launch coming up. To go along with that, I’m doing a time audit this week, which has been interesting so far to say the least!
I’m loving lately —
I love this post from Joy about things she’s super lazy about. It’s a nice reminder that we’re all human!
Alison posted how she uses Evernote a while back, but I’m learning to love the platform so her post was incredibly helpful.
Megan and Mike over at The Fresh Exchange shared a personal + insightful post on their next steps as well as a peek at their new site design. I’m still swooning over that design, y’all!
Krista included me in her post where 20 experts shared how they gain clients through their blog. Perfect post for anyone struggling to gain consistent work, particularly through their blog.
I finally checked out the video for Justin Timberlake’s new song, and it. is. amazing. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go watch it.
I loved this article from Paul Jarvis about cracking the best-seller list. It’s definitely a good read for anyone selling things, particularly online!
