A few months ago I can an inquiry from a young lady who said she’d DIY’d a design for her blog, and while she was happy with it she was quickly seeing the value of working with a designer to create a more cohesive look. That young lady was Morgan, and when I read that line in her email I knew immediately that I was going to take her project.
I’ll be honest, when we were getting started I was a little scared :) Morgan loved two colors: purple and yellow. She had told me from the get go that she wanted to keep the overall vibe of her blog while just polishing things up, and that meant for sure keeping her two favorite colors. I had no idea how I would combine those two colors, but after working to narrow in on the style we’d be going for, I knew that teal would be the perfect color to add in and make something really unique.
I don’t always use teal in my client projects, but when I do they instantly become my favorite!
After nailing the branding, we moved on to Morgan’s blog design! Our primary concern were to obviously keep people on her site, but also get them signed up for her email list. So, we went with a traditional layout with Popular Posts in her sidebar as well as a few locations for her opt-in form, my favorite being the one in the footer, obviously!
You can view the entire live site right over here, and while you’re over there be sure to check out those gorgeous branded post graphics that Morgan made to match her new look! I love when my clients take what I’ve given them and keep it going to make an even stronger brand!
