I’m beyond thrilled to have another guest on the blog today! This time it’s Autumn of ARoadRuck, and she’s talking about one thing I think we all struggle with from time to time: staying creative. It’s not unusual to experience the lag in our creative juices every now and then, and if you’re no stranger to that lag this post is for you! Autumn is offering an awesome bonus for y’all today at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!
Let’s get into the habit of keeping your creativity connected. This means you are going to continuously keep yourself in a creative place. Training your mind, body and spirit to be connected to your individual creative space. How can you accomplish such a task?
Let’s talk about that…
When you wake up in the morning, start your day by waking up your creative mind. Try meditating, listening to music or exercise. More creative points for all three. You want to start your day making a goals list. That way you’re challenging yourself to create and be productive. At the end of the day, you will feel more accomplished with a fulfilled list.
In the middle of your day, if you getting a bit stiff or needing a quick recharge, instead of taking a nap, try walking outside. Connecting with nature will help you connect back to creativity.
If you’re still feeling the creative block, give yourself another break and work on something else. You could also play “hookie” from your creative job and go out with some friends or family. Find a hero or a muse, socializing with them or just friends will help smooth the connection of creativity.
At the end of the day, it a great time clear your desk, de-clutter your life and get ready to start fresh tomorrow. I find inspiration from a blank piece of paper and a clean desk. If that’s you too, make sure your work space is clean and distraction free.
