On Monday, I celebrated my 24th birthday, and I don’t know if it’s getting a year older or what but I’ve been really reflective on things lately. I’ve felt totally removed from where blogging is going, and ultimately I decided to take a step back. It’s hard to share that after I’ve been blogging 5 days a week for nearly four years, but I’m excited to take the pressure of this whole extra things off my plate. Instead of the usual posts, I’m hoping to just check in 1-2 times per week with posts that I enjoy sharing more than what I’ve been writing.
It’s crazy that October is already almost half over, but we’re still trying to make the most of the month. I’m hoping to rope D into doing fall things like getting pumpkins this weekend. I’ve also been working on reading more this month, and I’ve finished Dear Daughter and Finding Lily. I’m currently reading Why Not Me, which is making me literally laugh out loud.
I’m currently working on adding more work to my portfolio, especially my most recent project Sam Loves Cheese. I’ve been trying to get the post about that project up for the last couple of days, but I’m going to shoot for next week instead. I’m super happy with how it turned out since I did a few new things I haven’t ever tried before.
P.s. If you want, you can check out those boots and the book, which is currently half off, this weekend!

Dear Kory,
You are not defined by what you do but by how you feel about what you do. Quite honestly, I’ve been happily reading your newsletters not realizing I was missing your blog posts. And were I subscribed to them, I may well have been overwhelmed. I can tell you, every October, this being the third year, I post every single day of the month. I do it to prove it’s possible. And then I go back to 3 times weekly. You have such wisdom for a 24 year old (I’m 49) that I’m often astounded. You are doing an amazing and marvelous job at doing and I hope you give yourself a moment to know this and focus on the feeling of being.
Happy Birthday Doll!
Love,
Shalagh
