Happy Monday, y’all! I hope everyone had a great (and safe) 4th weekend! We were lucky enough for the hubs to have off Friday through to today, so I’m in and out of work while hanging out with him and the pup today. Since it’s been a while, I figured what better time to share a personal post?! So here we go!
+ Yesterday we got up super early to take Zoey to the beach for her first time out there. It was so much fun! She was scared of the water, even though she saw several other dogs playing in it. However, she got to play with some of the other dogs, and D ran her around a little bit while we were out there. Overall, we’re considering it a successful trip for it being the first time. I’m hoping we can get her back out there sometime soon so we can start getting her used to the water, but we’ll see!
+ I’ve been soaking up every second of not working these past few weeks with our new favorite tv show (Justified) or reading. I’ve already finished one book this month, which was Backlash! I tweeted last week about having so many books checked out between a few I have from the library and then the Overdrive books I’ve borrowed. With all of these books, it looks like I’ll be reading more books this month than usual, which I’m totally okay with.
+ As far as behind the scenes business things go, I’ve been auditing simple thing like the design of my newsletter, adding a footer to the blog, and working hard on Craft Your Brand. I’m really excited to finally be coming into the last week before the book officially launches. At this point, I’m trying to start wrapping things up, but it’s so hard when I feel like there’s just so much to share when it comes to branding!
+ Also for the blog BTS: I’ve been trying out new things like using CoSchedule for about a month now (which I’m loving), and I’m even trying out Evernote again. I give all the props for the ideas on how I’m using these tools to Fran of freeborboleta. I think it’s super fun to see how other people do things so you can evaluate if it’ll benefit your own workflow. So far, CoSchedule has been a huge blessing for sharing not just my blog posts but the promo tweets for CYB, others’ posts, and even my guest posts from the last few weeks.
+ Lastly, The Summer Reads book club has been going well. We’re starting our second book today, which is How To Style Your Brand by Fiona Humberstone. I’m fairly certain it’s going to be a bigger hit than the last one was with the group, and I know it’ll be a quick read. If you want to join us while we read it – you’re welcome to do so in the link above!
That’s about it for us! What have y’all been up to lately? I’d love to hear about it!
