monthly goals / december

a month of goals : december | with kory woodard

You guys – how is it already December?! I cannot believe that it’s the last month of the year, and that 2015 will literally be here before I even realize it. I know I’ve been saying it all over the web, but I’ve been spending the last month working my butt off trying to finish up all of my current projects so that I can truly enjoy the few weeks D has off with him and our families. So, let’s just dive in and take a look at everything else I’ve been working on!

  • Finish the Brand Catalyst site + launch to subscribers – Done! I’m so thrilled with Brand Catalyst, and I’ve had a really great outpouring of support since launching it to the subscribers. It launches to everyone tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled!
  • Get stuff together for the annual reader survey – Done! Every year when I run this survey I feel like I have no idea where I want the next year to go. This year, it’s completely different. I asked different questions, and I now know what you guys need from me as well as where I want this blog to go in 2015.
  • Black Friday shop for a big gift for D – Done! I’m so excited to have gotten my guy a gift he deserves. I’ve realized in the last two years that I have a big heart, and I loooove giving gifts, so I just cannot wait to see his face on Christmas morning!
  • Finish at least half the current projects I’m working on – Done! I’m so happy to say I’ve done this. November was one crazy month. I had more projects in the books than I’ve ever had. That led to a lot of stress right before Thanksgiving last week. From that, I’ve learned that I’ll never again take on so many projects at once. However, I’m happy to say that I had many launches (like this one and this one) that I’m so happy with come from it all!

November was a ball of stress for me! With all of the projects, the Brand Catalyst subscriber launch, D signing our lease, and us officially looking at what all we’re going to have to buy for the house.. it’s been crazy. Fortunately, things are starting to be taken care of like half my projects finishing up and we bought some stuff over the holiday weekend for the house! But anyway, what about this month? Well…

  • Launch Brand Catalyst (tomorrow!) – I’m so overjoyed that this baby is finally going to meet the world. I have been putting so much time and effort into this course, and I know it’s going to be a game changer for so many people. Registration for everyone officially opens tomorrow with a one-day only special price, then it’ll go to regular price on Friday! Be sure to check back tomorrow if this sounds like your thing!
  • Make a master list of what needs to go to SC / Pack / Move – Whew! We’re moving our stuff two separate times. I’m bringing most (if not all) of my stuff at my parents’ to the new house, and after our time home, we’re moving the rest of it plus what’s at his parents’ house. Well, with so much stuff, and it all spread out all over the place, I’ve been thinking it’s time to just make a list of what we need. After that, I’ve got to actually pack and move. This is so much more emotional than leaving my parents’ to go to college (I’m an only child, so they’re like my best friends), but I’m over the moon that I’ll be living with D again shortly.
  • Finish the remainder of my current projects – Every single thing I’m working on right now, I know it can all be done by the 19th! I’ve got a few more branding, blog design, web design, and ebook projects to finish up in the next three weeks, and I’m going to do it unless a client needs to wait. I don’t want to have anyone waiting for me while I’m away, and I certainly don’t want to feel like I have to cut my break short just to please people. I am a firm believer in shutting down to spend time with loved ones, which is what I plan to do instead of work! Which leads me to my next goal…
  • Don’t work one single day after the 20th – Holy smokes! I can’t believe I said it, but there it is! I am only making two exceptions to this one: I can answer emails (when I want or have the time, not because I have to or feel obligated to) and I’m sure I will be doing some blog work around here as I prep for the redesign launch in January! I absolutely love what I do, but I think it’s necessary to take a break from working and blogging to reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and your surroundings.

I’m so thrilled about this month, and I can’t wait to make it amazing!

Now, what about you? What are you working on this month? Let me know in the comments, and let’s hold each other accountable!

P.s. Do you love this post series? Would you like to keep seeing it next year? I’m planning where I want to take this blog in 2015, so I want to hear from you! If you love this post seres, be sure to let me know in the comments or by tweeting to me!
