Here we are again, my friends! It’s July, and I’ve been eagerly waiting for this month since D left in May! I’m excited that this month is for fun things like his boot camp graduation ( finally! ), which means travel, one of the most fun holidays, and taking on new projects. Let’s get on to the point, though, by reviewing last month’s goals. Shall we?
Write ALL the letters– Been doing this like crazy! I decided to write D every day while he was gone. It helps me feel like I’m actually talking to him, so I didn’t mind. Tonight’s letter is number forty-five! I can’t believe I’ve filled up at least a front and a half on most letters.Back to sharing tips on business and blogging– After reviewing the last month’s editorial calendar I can say I feel like I’ve done this. Yesterday’s post was the first on blogging in a while, but I’m eager for new plans and posts that’ll be coming in the next few months as well.Evaluate contract + change if needed– Very happy I did this. Some things did need changing, so I’ve made an update. While my contract varies slightly from project to project, it’s nice to have a general template to go to when I need it.- Water – Eh. Not so great on this one. I was doing really good towards the beginning of the month, but sweet tea and red bull have been making huge appearances over the last few weeks. I need to get back on this for next month.
Another digital+ physical cleanse of things – I didn’t do this of physical things; however, I did manage to do some cleaning of my computer. Old programs and files have gotten tossed or moved to one of my backup drives.
Overall June was a success in my opinion. Most of the time while D is gone I stay pretty busy, and this past month has been no exception. In last month’s post I said I knew D would be proud of me when he heard about all I had done so I was trying to work my behind off, and I believe I accomplished that. I won’t be slacking for this month though:
- D’s graduation – Yes, I’m putting this as a “goal”. I’m really looking forward to seeing him, and I can’t wait to hear about his experience first hand. I’m also eager to make the most of the time we have together afterwards, and any time we may have prior to him starting his schooling.
- Brainstorm a small, free email course – The idea came to me yesterday, and honestly, it makes me excited to think about. I’ve been wanting to do some sort of course, and I think a small email one is a great way to get started. I haven’t decided on anything just yet, but I’ll let y’all know when I do!
- Actually read – remember when I made that summer reading list? Well I’ve not read anything on it. I’ve been going from work to Netflix to time with family or other things and haven’t quite picked up a book since finishing the Carrie Diaries. I’m hoping that being part of the Creatives Club book club will help encourage me to actually get some reading done.
- Buy a new Mac – D and I had set an income goal prior to his leaving on what I would like to have had before I got a new computer. Honestly, it’s been hard. Things slowed down for a little while, and some projects are taking longer than I anticipated. However, I’m determined to get a new computer by the end of the month regardless.
That’s it for this month, just four goals. With the holiday tomorrow and travel coming up in a few weeks, I’m not putting pressure on myself to take on the world. Instead, I’m going to focus on a few small things!
What about you? What are your goals for this month?
